As the interest of curling in Pittsburgh continues to grow, the club must be flexible in the number of draws offered and the start times of those draws. Prior to the start of Fall session all changes to the schedule will be sent to the members and updated on the website.

Skill / Atmosphere Types:

Social / Fun
Designed for members at any level of play who are most interested in having fun. Fosters a fun and relaxed curling environment. Teaches game rules, etiquette & strategy.

Mentoring / Developmental
Improvement oriented play with a goal of mentoring newer curlers on the facets of the game or bringing up established curlers into positions such as vice and skip. Expect friendly camaraderie and entertaining games.

Semi-Competitive / Balanced
Builds on the basics with experienced skips and an effort to balance the teams. Designed to increase understanding of the mechanics and strategy of the game while creating a consistent curling experience. Not geared towards brand new curlers, though Curling 101 members are qualified and encouraged to join.

Competitive / Elite
Competitive-oriented teams playing against high level opponents in games of high level strategy and shot making. Designed to fine tune the highest level of the game. Curlers must have a year of experience.

Fall – Monday Open Curing – “Case of the Mondays” Night league

Targeted for 7:00 pm.

If we exceed 32 participants then we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s preferences.

  • Game type: Traditional 8-end games
  • Register as: Individual, part team, full team
  • How teams are formed: Individual sign up. You may request a teammate or a team. Requests for teammates and full team entries will be completed through discussion with the drawmaster. In the event of insufficient enrollment, pick-up teams may be formed weekly.

Fall – Futures League

Futures League is a Mini League starting Oct 22, 2024 running through Dec 17.2024

Futures League is intended as a learning environment for developing curling skills and strategy, in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

The Futures League is perfect for curlers who are newer to the sport and could act like a bridge between our Learn to Curl Program and our regular leagues for those who want to take it slower.

Fall – Tuesday – Doubles

Doubles curling is a variation of curling with only two players on each team.  Each team plays with six stones, one of which is positioned in play before the start of the end.  Of the five stones each team delivers during an end, one player throws the first and last stone while the other player must throw the three in between.

Targeted for 8:30 pm.

If we exceed 16 participants then we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s preferences.

Fall – Wednesday Night League

If enrollment is sufficient will have games at 6:00 and 8:15 pm.  If only enough teams for one draw, then games will be scheduled at 7:00 pm.  Drawmaster will confirm schedule prior to start of Fall session.

Fall – Thursday Night League

  • Draw start time will be 8:30 pm.
    If attendance levels necessitate it, a 2 draw schedule with early and late start times may be implemented.

Fall – Stones and Scones – Saturdays 9:00 AM

  • Skill / atmosphere: Social / fun
  • Game type: Traditional 8-end games
  • Register as: Individual, part team, full team
  • How are teams formed: Pick-up. Requests for teammates should be directed to the drawmaster. If enrollment is sufficient, fixed teams may be set up.
  • Description: The theme is Stones & Scones.  Each week, we will ask for volunteers to bring a breakfast type item or pastry for all to enjoy.
